Welcome to the public libraries of Fjell, Sund and Øygarden!
Borrowers rights
Everyone has the right to use library materials and
services.
Loan and use shall be free of charge.
The libraries charge a fee for prints and copies.
You
get a library card by showing valid identification papers.
Children from first grade can get a library card. Borrowers
under the age of 15 must have a signature from guardians. |

The
library must be notified by change of address or lost library card.
The card must be shown when borrowing and when using Internet at
the library.
Borrowing period
Regular borrowing periods are:

For
video and CD-ROM

language courses

books, audiobooks, music and periodicals

weeks

Video
and CD-ROM are marked with recommended age limits. The borrower is
responsible for respecting these limits. The libraries are not
responsible if borrowed material damages any technical equipment.
The loan of video is limited by regulations in force at each
library.
Lended
items can be renewed if there is no waiting list.
The library has the right to reduce borrowing periods for new
books by 14 days.
Reserve material
Books and other materials on loan can be reserved. You will be
notified by mail when it is ready to be collected. The items must
be collected within a week.
Interlibrary Loans
Books that are not in our collection, can most often be ordered
from other libraries as an interlibrary loan. This is not the rule
with curriculum books for students at colleges and universities.
Via
Internet the libraries have access to Norwegian and foreign search
databases and collections. Please contact the library some time
before you need the literature.
Borrowers duties
Borrowers are responsible for items checked out in their name.
Lost or damaged material will be claimed for compensation. Please
respect the borrowing period because others might be waiting for
the books/ the material.
Borrowers
with overdue items will be subject to fines calculated by the
certain library. There will be sent three notifications before a
claim for compensation.
Loss
of library card will be charged with kr. 10,-
Failure to respect the present
rules may lead to suspension of borrowing rights. |
